I’ve run by this particular spot countless times over the last 3 years. It has always represented a place of peace, quiet, beauty, and growth (as I added mileage during training) for me. Earlier this week, this cross was put up. I’ve heard the story, but when I saw the cross at the exact location the accident happened, I realized this same spot that has been an escape for me, is the exact place that represents loss, pain, and grief for others. We all have our own stories with highs and lows weaved throughout. But one thing I know is true and always constant, God is with us in all of it. In the highs and in the lows, He loves us, is there for us, and will never leave us.
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” -Isaiah 41:10
