I ran across a dead bird on my run today (I know, weird way to start a post đ). Immediately Matthew 10:29-31 popped into my head, âWhat is the price of two sparrows-one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So donât be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.â
One bird, out of 50 billion birds (the lower estimate) in the whole world, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and God saw it. Is that not crazy to think about? And He loves us far more than a bird. He knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows the number of hairs on our head, every desire, every dream, every hurt. 2,000 years ago, Jesus died a painful, horrible death on a cross for us. He paid the price for our sin and took away the barrier that kept us from having an intimate, personal relationship with Him. As He hung on the cross, He had you in mind. He knew your name, He knew your story, He knew you were coming, and He desperately wants a relationship with you.
