In a Moment

I just finished my seventh week of training for a half marathon. This is coming from doing absolutely nothing for the previous four months so as you can imagine, it’s been a rebuilding process! Even knowing it would take a while to get back to where I was before, it’s still been frustrating. My breathing has felt difficult, my pacing has been all over the map, and I’ve been running my slowest miles in over two years. So ya…it’s been a process! But here’s the good news. This week everything changed! Out of what feels like nowhere, my breathing on every run has felt great, my pacing has been way more consistent, and my miles have been far faster. When I felt like nothing was improving, all of a sudden, everything changed in a day.

What’s incredible about God is that He can change everything in not just a day, but a moment. I think about so many stories in the Bible where someone’s circumstance changed immediately after an encounter with Jesus. The woman who had been bleeding for 12 years, trying everything to find healing, touched Jesus’ cloak and IMMEDIATELY was healed. 12 years gone with one touch. Can you imagine? So many blind, lame, and sick people found healing in one single moment with Jesus.

Whatever circumstance you might find yourself in, He can bring restoration, healing, opportunities, new direction, and whatever you need in a single moment. You might be at a point where you think nothing will ever change, but don’t lose hope, because tomorrow could be completely different! God is in control, He sees you, He hears you, He loves you, He knows your every need, and His timing is always perfect. An encounter could be coming!

Great encouragement as always, thank you! We are also 4 months into a Couch To Marathon program through Run For God. Will be praying for you -- please throw a few our way too. Blessings, and still waiting for that Running Devotional book ...

How fun! I’ve heard great things about that one! I’ve got a half marathon in 2 weeks in Oklahoma City. The main one I’m training for is in October, this one was to get motivated again 😂
