Distracted by the Noise

3.66 miles into my 14 ½ mile run and my headphones died. No music. Great. I NEVER run without music. I played with the headphones and no luck. Welp…I guess I’m supposed to be learning something because I have to finish this run. My first thought after the initial panic was, “Ok God. What are you trying to show me?” Without the music, I immediately heard my breathing. I couldn’t miss it and realized it wasn’t quite as good as I originally thought, so I got to practice on taking deeper breaths for the next hour and a half. When you quiet the outside, you can focus on what’s happening on the inside. You might come to realize things you thought were in good shape, actually needs some work. I've written about this before, but apparently I need more work in this area 😂 There is so much noise in our daily lives. Phones, music, people trying to get your attention for one reason or another, distractions every minute of the day. Let yourself take a second and focus on the inside. What’s God trying to tell you, but you haven’t heard because of the noise? Take a deep breath, slow down, and ask God what He’s wanting to show you today. I bet you’ll be surprised with what you find out!
